Summer Reading Program

This Summer's Reading Program!

Adventure Begins at Your Library

This year, our Summer Reading Adventures include:

June 4, 1:00PM outside of the library: EMT Day - We will have emergency medical technician representatives from the Sheriff's Department, Fire Department, and Ambulance District at the library with their vehicles and equipment to teach kids about their jobs, and to show them that they aren't scary, and only there to help in an emergency!
*All ages welcome.

June 10, 3:00PM in the library basement: Marko Polo - Mark Pagano, AKA Marko Polo, is a singer/songwriter, kids musician, and teaching artist. He blends groovy rock and roll guitar with catchy hooks and memorable topics that connect with listeners of all stripes.
*All ages welcome.

June 18, 1:00-3:00 in the library basement: STEM Kit Demonstration - Don't get caught in the summer slump! We will have a presenter come and show off a variety of STEM kits, and let the kids do a lot of hands-on learning.
*Grades K-9th encouraged to come.

June 26, 1:00 in the library basement: Reading Event - We will be reading some outdoor adventure books, doing a fun activity, and enjoying some snacks. The activity does involve permanent markers.
*All ages welcome.

July 11, 1:00PM in the library basement: WildHeartWildHeart will be  sharing music, fun, and animals with Dulany Library at this Summer Reading Program event.  Jan Syrigos of WildHeart is a University of Missouri Graduate with a degree in Forestry.  She has worked in the conservation field for over 20 years and loves nature! And she loves to sing...  Jan is a professional singer/songwriter with 25 years’ experience in guitar and piano.  Her husband, George, a MU graduate in Fisheries and Wildlife, sometimes performs with her as a special guest and brings his experience with nature and professional music along for the wild ride!
*All ages welcome.

July 18, 6:30-8:30pm in the field across from St. Joseph School (105 N. Willie Ave.): Tethered Hot Air Balloon Event - In this case, ADVENTURE BEGINS OUTSIDE OF YOUR LIBRARY! The library is hosting FREE tethered hot air balloon rides and family activities, which is sure to be fun for all ages! This is a first-come, first-served, weather-depended event, and rides are NOT guaranteed. The pilot-in-command has final word on who is eligible to ride. Waivers will be required, and sign-in is encouraged immediately upon arrival.
For more information about rules for participants, click here.
Back-up date will be July 19.
*All ages encouraged for family activities and launch viewing. Ages 5+ preferred for balloon rides. However, age limits will be set at the pilot's discretion.
